AFFILIATES
Local non-commercial advocacy and support groups of both parents and teachers involved in Gifted Education can apply for an Affiliate membership in California Association for the Gifted. Over twenty different groups have applied and been approved to be part of CAG's Affiliate Network. In order to be an affiliate, it is necessary for a group to meet certain requirements and submit an affiliate application. Each of these groups acts as separate legal entities with their own bylaws and officers. The affiliates are scattered from the far north near Mt. Shasta to the south in San Diego. Affiliate status is only a category of membership in CAG and implies no legal connection. As an affiliate, each group will receive specific benefits from CAG which are the following:
• two copies of the quarterly journal, Gifted Education Communicator
• two copies of the quarterly newsletter, the Intercom, delivered electronically
• two voting ballots
• two registration discounts for all CAG institutes and the annual conference
• legislative updates and access to members only area on website
(Affiliates memberships run January 1st – December 31st each year.)
